Deveron Singers - Stewart’s Hall HUNTLY 13th May 2011

  

 

 

 

 

On Friday 13th May 2011 the Deveron Singers were pleased to perform a Concert for Huntley Area Cancer Support Group. The guest soloist was Fiona Marshall (oboe).   

 

The Group was formed under its present banner in October 2002. They are ordinary individuals who have had some experience and understanding of cancer and who wish to help others similarly affected in any way they can, whether by providing a sympathetic ear, assisting with complementary therapies or giving a lift to the doctor's surgery, to the hospital or to the shops.

 

The stated aim of the Group is to provide both practical and emotional support to those whose lives have been affected by cancer, whether as a patient, carer, relative, friend, or as having been bereaved by cancer.

 

They do not believe in "doom and gloom" and hope to provide lively and informative monthly meetings.  In supporting each other through the difficult twists and turns of cancer they hope to ease the burden a little. Cancer touches so many lives, in so many ways but it doesn't have to be faced alone.
